Piñata Production and Farm Update

The festive season is always super busy for us at Piñata with Honey Golds and Pineapples in full swing., and this year was no different!!

We are now over half way through the Honey Gold season. Growers in Katherine (NT), Kununurra (WA), Bowen (QLD) and Townsville (QLD) are now all finished harvesting and packing. Most of the Honey Gold production at the moment is coming out of Mareeba (QLD) and Rockhampton (QLD). The fruit quality is excellent at the moment and they are eating beautifully!

We expect Honey Golds to be available consistently from now until March. This week we had a grower pick a Honey Gold Mango that was 1.4kg in weight!! It was absolutely massive (and tasted delicious too!)

Pineapple production is still continuing out of Mareeba (QLD) and Bundaberg (QLD) with fruit from Hervey Bay (QLD) coming through in the next few weeks. Like the Honey Golds, quality is excellent with the warm weather in Queensland really helping the pines to be extra sweet! Pineapple production will begin again at Wamuran in about mid-February.

Even though Piñata Strawberry season doesnt officially kick off until May, the ground is being prepared at the moment and plastic for the rows is being laid. The first plants are due to be put in the ground in about 9 weeks time. It won't be long before strawberry season is here again.

All of the Piñata crops are looking great at the moment with favourite weather conditions playing a huge part in this! This time last year the Queensland floods were affecting most of the farms so it's great to see some drier, warmer weather!
