Fresh strawberries should be stored uncovered in a colander in the refrigerator so that cold air can circulate around them.
Look for strawberries which are firm and plump with a bright, glossy colour and fresh-looking green caps.
As strawberries do not ripen after picking, we only pick fruit that is fully red on the surface so the fruit is at its sweetest and most flavoursome. Strawberries are best enjoyed within a few days of purchase.
