BerryWorld-branded premium raspberries are also produced by Piñata Farms in winter at Wamuran and in summer at Stanthorpe, south-east Queensland, taking advantage of the climatic variations of each region to spread the harvest out.
From November 2020, Tasmania's season will run from November to May annually. The farm is expected to reach full production by 2024.
The Tasmanian operation includes some 30 polytunnels in production and a high-tech packhouse fitted with a heat-sealing machine. The farm has provided jobs for up to 25 people.
All fruit is picked and packed on site and supplied to exclusive retail partner, Woolworths for distribution to selected outlets.
